  • Your program begins with a physician-led online appointment focused on risk assessment, medical history, and determining whether PrEP is appropriate for you.

  • Required Baseline Laboratory Testing

  • Ontario patients will complete initial labs including HIV testing, kidney function, and STI screening. These tests are required before starting PrEP and help ensure safe, evidence-based care.

  • Personalized PrEP Prescription

  • Whether daily or on-demand PrEP is right for you, your prescription will be tailored to your needs. Medications are dispensed through PocketPills, our pharmacy partner, who will deliver your prescription directly to your Ontario address.

  • Quarterly Follow-Up Appointments (Every 3 Months)

  • All ongoing care is provided to Ontario patients only, through secure telemedicine (Jane.app video or phone). Each visit includes:

  • Repeat labs every 3 months

  • Side-effect monitoring

  • Adherence and risk-reduction support

  • Review and renewal of prescriptions

  • Secure Refills and Physician Supervision

  • Your refills are managed through secure telemedicine, ensuring continuity of care, clinical safety, and complete privacy.

How does the CoreMD PrEP Program work?

Step 1 — Book an Appointment

You schedule a virtual consultation through our website.

Step 2 — Receive a Lab Requisition

A blood and urine test requisition is emailed to you immediately after your appointment.

Step 3 — Complete Your Lab Work

Once you complete the tests, results come directly to your CoreMD physician.

Step 4 — Start PrEP (if eligible)

If all safety criteria are met, your prescription is sent to your preferred pharmacy.

Step 5 — Receive Bi-weekly Educational Material

Every 2 weeks you will receive:

  • A physician-created PDF module (PrEP fundamentals, STI prevention, medication adherence, side effects, sexual health optimization, and more)

  • Action steps and checklists to guide you through the program

Step 6 — Follow-Up Care

You are reassessed every:

  • 3 months (HIV testing + STI screening + monitoring kidney function)
